• Entries in the links.shetland.co.uk listings
  A listing in the directory starts from only £12.50 per year. An entry can be made under the heading of your choice (We will introduce new headings as and when required). For a small amount extra you may be placed under multiple categories, these will be located under as many additional headings as considered suitable at our discretion. Full details on entry types, their benefits and costs are detailed below.

  Free entries may be given to charities and non profit making organisations at our discretion.

• Banner advertising on the listings pages
  Space is available for customers to place their advertising banner in a range of sizes and locations on the site. For those without the facilities to produce their own banner we can do so from their supplied artwork for small fee. More complex designs including animated banners can be quoted for. More detailed information on banners can be found below.

• Custom sized promotional space on the site
  For anyone requiring advertising space on the site which can not be accommodated in one of the standard banner sizes then this product may suit. Custom space will allow you smaller space for say just a logo, or larger space with advertising material including a photograph for example.

  There are a range of 'starter' sizes available in various widths and heights, with all of these the height can be extended in units of 60 pixels if required. Consider this as similar to 'column inches' in printed advertising. Details and prices below.

• Dedicated whole page adverts
  We can supply you with a dedicated, stand alone web page containing your promotional information. The page han be supplied to us in HTML format or if you are unable to do this we can produce a web page from your supplied material.

  Your page will be directly accessible over the internet with it's own web address supplied by us. This web address can also be printed on your other advertising, business cards, and linked from other web sites etc. More details below.

• e-Mail addresses
  Need a distinctive e-mail address? We can supply you with addresses in the form of 'yourname.shetland.co.uk', these can be in the form of stand alone POP3 mail boxes or the mail can be forwarded to another address.

• Other internet services
  A full range of internet services are available from Shetland Broadband and Shetland Internet including:
  • ADSL and subscription free 0845 dial-up.
  • e-mail hosting including web mail and anti-spam filtering.
  • Web site hosting from the simple to advanced e-commerce sites.
  • Domain Names - All common types and also 'yourname.shetland.co.uk' sub-domains

An entry in the directory is available in three types

1. LINKED ENTRY:
   This entry consists of a linked business or organisation name and a description of up to (30) words. The business or organisation name acts as a link to the owners web site, or their advertising page provided on our associated advertising site. See the example below.

   

2. CONTACT ENTRY:
   This entry consists of the business or organisation name, a description of up to (30) words and contact details (Address, phone, fax, mobile, e-mail etc.).

   

3. ENHANCED ENTRY:
   A combination of both of the above, linked business or organisation name, description and contact details.

Free entries may be given to charities and non profit making organisations at our discretion.

Banners can be used to gain enhanced visibility on links.shetland.co.uk. Banners are available in two main types, dedicated and rotating in a range of sizes and locations.

Banners can either be in the standard GIF format or at additional cost an animated GIF file. Animated GIFs can be up to 150Kb, contact us for details on larger file sizes.

We can create a banner for you for from just £6.50 for a standard GIF from your supplied artwork.

DEDICATED BANNERS:
A dedicated banner is a fixed banner placed on the page of your choice and is permanently present on that page. It is also provides a clickable link to your web site, or advertising page on our associated advertising site. You may provide us with your banner as a '.gif' file or we can produce one from your artwork or letter head etc. for an additional fee. For sizes and display locations see below.

ROTATING BANNERS:
A rotating banner is banner space shared with other banners but has the advantage that the rotating banner is mirrored on most pages on the site. Each time a page is loaded or refreshed then a banner from the group is selected at random and displayed, the number of banners allocated to a space is limited to ensure a good level of exposure is maintained. It is also provides a clickable link to your web site, or advertising page on our associated advertising site.

Banner sizes and page locations (the 3 bottom banner examples are actual size):

Custom advertising space is available in both the right and left hand columns of the pages, this can be used to host your linked logo or custom advertising message. Prices given below are for static images, for animated GIFs etc. please contact us for details.

We currently offer two page sizes, small and large. As a guide you should consider that a small page would be equivalent to what you would get on an A5 size printed advert with a large page being roughly equivalent to an A4 page in print. We are also able to supply e-mail addresses if required, see below.

Your advert will be a stand alone web page linked from links.shetland.co.uk (free linked entry) but will also be directly accessible over the internet with it's own web address supplied by us eg:
'www.links.shetland.co.uk/myname'

This web address can also be printed on your other advertising, business cards etc.

• Large page (approximate equivalent of A4 in print) £28.50 inclusive of VAT
